How does the API handle fictitious/assumed business names (DBAs)?‍

DBAs are tied to a real legal entity. When you search by a fictitious name (e.g., “Happy Roof”), the API may return that record; the legal entity will also appear under the assumedBusinessNames section of the JSON. We also indicate the matched input that led to the selection. Prioritization is being optimized so the legal entity is preferred when appropriate.
